2023 Results
The 2023 Buckeye Show Circuit participants were split in to 7 divisions by age as of January 1.Â
Exhibitors collected points for placing and participating in all categories of the circuit and no points were dropped to calculate their overall exhibitor score. Ties in overall exhibitor placings came down to skill-a-thon tie-breakers.Â

Division 1: 3-5 years old
Division 2: 6-8 years old
Division 3: 9-10 years old
Division 4: 11-12 years old
Division 5: 13-14 years old
Division 6: 15-16 years oldÂ
Division 7: 17-21 years old
Skill-a-thon:
Exhibitors took a 30 question test based on their knowledge for their age division. Divisions 2-7 also had the opportunity to answer 5 tie-breaker questions.Â
Raw scores are out of 30, not including the amount correct for the tie-breaker.Â
Scores are then weighted (out of 25) for the overall exhibitor calculation.
Judging Contest:
Exhibitors had the ability to put their judging skills to the test where they evaluated two classes of pigs; one breeding class and one market class.Â
Exhibitors were asked questions about each class and also had to place the class. Questions are worth 5 points each and placings are out of 50 points - making each class that was judged a total of 75 points.Â
Raw scores are broken out by class and added together for a total of 150 points for each exhibitor.Â
Scores are then weighted (out of 25) for the overall exhibitor calculation.
Showmanship:
Exhibitors had the opportunity to compete in a showmanship class each day of the circuit. Points were awarded to those who placed as well as those who participated.
Points were then added up from all days and are then weighted to be 25% of an exhibitor's total score. Additional points are NOT awarded for being named division champion or showman of showmen for a particular day.
Points:Â
1st place = 10
2nd place = 9
3rd place = 8
4th place = 7
5th place = 6
Participation = 5

Points in this category are out of 25.
Market/Breeding Classes:
Exhibitors competed in their respective market and/or breeding classes with their pigs and earned points for placing as well as participating.Â
The ONE highest placing pig, regardless of breeding or market, for each day was calculated in to the market/breeding classes overall placings. Ex: Exhibitor showed two pigs. Pigs placed 1st and 2nd respectfully, the calculation would keep the first place pig's points.Â
Points:Â
1st place = 10
2nd place = 9
3rd place = 8
4th place = 7
5th place = 6
Participation = 5

Total points in this category are out of 25.Â
Overall Results:
We believe it is important for an overall exhibitor to be well-rounded and to excel in all aspect of their project.Â
The overall exhibitor calculation looks at how an exhibitor did across all categories and adds those respective points together to give a total score. Scores are out of 100.
Ties are broken by how an exhibitor did in the skill-a-thon tie-breaker.Â
